Julia is internationally recognized as a bestselling author, as well as a parenting and teaching expert. Her books have been referenced in such publications as Parent’s Magazine, The New Yorker, Green Child Magazine, The Huffington Post, The Chicago Tribune, Yahoo.com, and BabyZone.com. She has been featured on CNN’s HLN News and many local news shows in major metropolitan markets. She has also consulted with Apple and hundreds of school districts.
Born and raised in Salt Lake City, Julia first began her teaching career as a ski instructor. This experience led to a love of teaching in general. She earned her Master’s degree in School Counseling.
